Welcome to El CHORRILLO

The location of El Chorrillo

El Chorrillo is situated on top of a hill, 2km from the small village of La Muela (the molar), and stands on the edge of a steep escarpment looking across the La Janda valley to the town of Vejer de La Frontera, on the Costa de la Luz (“The Coast of Light”), inland from the famous beaches of El Palmar, on the Atlantic coast of Andalucía, about halfway between Algeciras and Cadiz, in Southern Spain.

About the Area

Vejer de la Frontera is a picturesque village in the province of Cádiz. It's literally perched on the top of a hill, and the views overlooking the coast on one side, and the Sierra on the other are absolutely breathtaking. It's one of those places that is almost impossible to drive by without stopping to take a closer look - not only are the views from the town dramatic, the views of the town are equally dramatic. The town itself is simply charming, as are its inhabitants. Vejer is the kind of place that you never visit just once.

The following recreational activities are available at, or within easy reach of El Chorrillo: Nature, Birding. and Wildlife

Half the 18, 000 sq. m of El Chorrillo is covered with natural growth of trees and bushes - a tiny nature reserve in itself, harboring several species of resident birds and small mammals, untouched except for paths cut through for visitors to enjoy. In Spring and Autumn there are spectacular displays of wild flowers. There are several National Parks and Nature Reserves in easy reach, including Coto de Donana, the largest National Park in Europe. We are also on one of the main bird migration routes. Nature and birding guided walks and tours can be arranged.

Hiking and Walking

We have good short walks in and around the grounds of El Chorrillo, and good hikes and walks along the coast, in the neighborhood, in the nearby National Parks and Sierras.

Sightseeing

Vejer, 6 km away by road, is a picturesque “white pueblo” town, perched on top of a hill, with wide views to the Sierras on one side and to the Atlantic beaches on the other, full of whitewashed houses lining narrow streets, and historic buildings. Cadiz, Ronda and Seville (historic buildings and museums), Jerez (sherry and horses), Tarifa (windsurfing), Bolonia (roman ruins) and many other places of interest, are all in easy driving distance.

Golf

If you are a golfer and you want to play championship courses the Cadiz area of the Costa de la Luz is the perfect venue. There are eleven outstanding golf courses less than an hours drive away from Finca El Chorrillo, and four within half an hour.

Horse Rides

Horseback riding can also be arranged nearby.

Beaches

If you prefer to take things easy, there are many wonderful beaches a few minutes away by car, where the sand is golden, the Atlantic Ocean is clean and the long wide beaches have a gentle incline to the sea, making them safe, quiet and beautiful.

Shopping & Eating Out

For retail therapy, we have shops, markets, supermarkets and hypermarkets, all close by. And if all that shopping makes you hungry, there are four good restaurants and bars within 2km, and many others not much further.
